1.5 Why is entry free for people from Marseilles?
A charter of cooperation signed in 1997 by Lyon and Marseilles established school, university, sporting and cultural exchanges. In 2003, reciprocity of free entry into all the museums in the two cities for their inhabitants was added.

1.6 Who gets a reduced entry fee to the museum?

1.7 I am coming by car. Is there a car park nearby the museum?
YES. You must pay for parking. Car park: entrance "quai Charles de Gaulle".

1.8 I am coming by coach. Is there a car park nearby the museum?
YES. Free car park at the Palais des Congrès (50 quai Charles de Gaulle).

1.9 Is there an access reserved for disabled people?
YES. All disabled people should access the museum by the entrance at the side of the cinema. This entrance is a priority access to the museum. The disabled person is entitled to a reduced entry fee, a one free entrance ticket for someone accompanying them. To be met personally, you can telephone: +33 (0)4 72 69 17 19 from Monday to Friday, from 9.15am to 12.15pm and from 1.45pm to 5.15pm.

1.10 Is there a cloakroom?
NO. Unfortunately the cloakroom is closed; following the 'Vigipirate' plan (series of measures against possible terrorist strikes). We hope to open it again soon.

1.11 Are pushchairs allowed?
In principal, yes. However, the arrangement of certain exhibitions (art work on the ground for example) can lead the museum to refuse access with pushchairs. In these cases, it is indicated by a pictogram on the page about the exhibition.

1.12.1 Is it possible to reserve for an exhibition at the museum?
NO. At the moment it is not possible to make reservations. To be kept informed about this possibility, subscribe to the newsletter.

1.12.2 Is it possible to reserve for entrance to a projection or conference at the museum?
NO. Entry to most of the debates, projections and conferences is free, with a limited number of places available. It is not possible to reserve.

1.13 Where can I find information about the group visits offered? How do I reserve a group visit?
Group visits can be organised with or without guides, for schools and community clubs, students and teachers, or adults: to find out about all the activities we offer, the prices and how to reserve, click here

1.14 Do you organize guided visits in the museum?
Guided visits are organized in French on Sundays at 3.30pm, without reservation.
For reserved group visits: see 1.13.

1.15 What are the activities offered to children?

1.16 Are you allowed to photograph the works displayed?
NO. Pictures, films and sound recordings are forbidden except for special authorisation given to the press.

3.1 Is it possible to buy catalogues, posters or postcards online?
NO. It is still not possible to buy the products published by the Lyon Museum of Contemporary Art online. However, you can buy them at the museum's bookshop, which has the same opening hours as the museum.

3.2 Is it possible to buy tickets for an exhibition online?
NO. It is not possible to reserve. To be kept informed on this possibility, subscribe to the newsletter.

3.3 Is it possible to pay online for entrance to a projection or a conference ?
NO. It is not possible to pay online for entrance to a projection or a conference. Besides, entrance to most of the debates, projections and conferences is free.

If the work that you are looking for does not appear on our website and/or if you would like to use it for a specific purpose, contact us.

5.3 Is it possible to borrow books from the resource centre?
NO. The resource centre works through the consultation of documents on site.

5.4 How does the resource centre work?
The resource centre is only accessible by organized visit, Wednesday from 2pm to 5pm. Work must be carried out there. Access is free.

The bookshop is on the ground floor, opposite the UGC cinema. It has the same opening hours as the museum.

9.2 Is there a restaurant?
YES. The museum's café is an exterior franchise. It is open on Mondays and Tuesdays from 11am to 3pm and from Wednesdays to Sundays from 11am to 7pm.
