Graduated, with congratulations, from the Ecole Nationale Superieure des Beaux-Arts in Paris in 2006, Marlène Mocquet quickly distinguished herself by the singularity of her painting. With great mastery of technique, she develops a poetic and fantastic personal universe. Each painting of Marlène Mocquet is populated with characters, animals and anthropomorphic objects, shaping a sophisticated image in a falsely naïve story. Marlène Mocquet’s pictorial material is almost rough, she likes drippings, plays with impasto.
In 2007, Marlene Mocquet took part in Cadrage-Debordement (ENSBA, Paris), Moteur (Centre d’Art Contemporain Le Crédac, Ivry-Sur-Seine), (Lyon), Rendez-Vous 07.
Since 2007, several solo exhibitions were dedicated to Marlene Mocquet: Galerie Alain Gutharc(Paris), Freight + Volume Gallery (New York), Galerie Edouard Manet (Genevilliers).
